RIVALRY

For the second year in a row, it’s Moapa Valley v. Virgin Valley for the state championship game.  And for the second year in a row I’m guessing both towns will be emptied to pack the stadium at Clark High School.

 Sounds like a great way to end a fine football season.  For anyone not attending the game, we will send updates.  If this new site called Utterz is working properly, I’ll send you detailed voice updates.  Our camera man, Larin Lamoreaux, was nice enough to clear his schedule to get some video footage.   And a full recap will be coming to NevadaPrep soon after the game.

This week: State Volleyball

This Saturday, we’ll be at Silverado High School in Las Vegas covering the state volleyball championships for each classification.

Semi-final matches will be played on Friday.  Check out NevadaPrep to see who plays who and at what time.

Showdown: Moapa to Host Virgin Valley

One of Nevada’s prime rivalries will be renewed tomorrow night as the Moapa Valley Pirates host the Virgin Valley Bulldogs. We’ll be somewhere in the stands watching the action.

This is the first meeting between the teams since Virgin edged Moapa in the State Finals 10-7.  Both teams are undefeated in league, but the Bulldogs have the better overall record of 8-1 to Moapa’s 6-2.  The game will decide who will have the first seed for the playoffs, which begin next week.

As usual, we’ll be beaming live updates over at the end of each quarter.  I just bought a digital recorder, so we’ll have an audio report of the game next week.  And maybe, just maybe, we’ll have some video highlights as well.  I just need my noncommittal friend to commit for once.
